Who does not want to possess a ripped six pack abs? Having six pack abs means being able to show off your beautiful body in a confident manner. These exercises primarily work for the rectus abdominus muscles, which are the ones that are responsible for the ripped six pack appearance of your abs. Other muscles toned by crunches include the internal and external obliques (muscles on the sides of your abs) and the transverse abdominus muscles (muscle layer underneath the visible abs). To do basic crunches, you need to lie down on your back with your knees bent and your feet firmly planted on the floor. You can put your hands over your chest or under your head, depending on where you feel comfortable. Just make sure you don't yank at your head when doing crunches because this would only cause you some neck pain. Simply roll your upper torso forward, and that's it-you're doing basic crunches. For more advanced crunches exercises, you can try pushing your head and your chest towards the ceiling while flattening your lower back to the floor. Hold it for a second before going back to your original position and doing it again. For beginners, you can do this approximately 12-15 counts with 3 repetitions. Before you know it, you already have those ripped six pack abs, thanks to your crunches exercises. |
