Increase Your Stamina with Endurance Training
Ever wondered how marathon athletes get to tolerate those long hours just running without taking so much as a water break? Well, they definitely got something that people with sedentary lifestyles do not have, and that is body endurance. Endurance training is enables the body to support itself during a sustained physical activity. While most people think that endurance training is only necessary for athletes, the fact is that we can do this too. It enables us to increase our stamina for prolonged periods of time. It is impossible to engage in any exercise for a long period of time if you lack the endurance to do it. Endurance training exercises are aerobic in nature, meaning the body needs oxygen in order to supply energy to the different parts of the body concerned. The body can function for a while without oxygen (the anaerobic way), but it will not last long without oxygen. This is where endurance training exercises come in; because it helps the body produce energy as long as it is required. You might be wondering what the benefits of endurance training are for non-athletes like us. Aerobic trainings can actually improve the cardiovascular system, making it easier for the blood and oxygen to circulate around the body. Endurance training will also help the body recover easily after prolonged periods of stress. For example, if you have endurance, your body can easily recover after exercising. Of course, you have to remember that in order to develop endurance, your training should be coupled with proper nutrition. Eat a lot of carbohydrate-rich foods since your body will need to replace all the burned glycogen that it used up during the training. You also need to increase your protein intake, as well as the fruits and vegetables that you eat. A good idea is to eat small frequent meals rather than three large meals per day.
